Samuel Alexander Parnall Autobiography.

Autobiography, undated, of Samuel Alexander Parnall, a graduate of the first class of the Michigan Mining School (now Michigan Technological University) in Houghton, Michigan, and president of the alumni association from 1892-1893. Written as a letter to a younger relative, it details his experience growing up in Rockland, Michigan, his attendance at the Michigan Mining School and subsequent career as a mine engineer and superintendent around the western United States and Mexico.

Samuel Alexander Parnall was born in 1866 in Rockland, Michigan. He attended Michigan Mining School as part of its inaugural class, graduating in 1888 with a degree as a mine engineer. He was employed at various time as a mine engineer and mine superintendent for several companies in Michigan, Arizona, Colorado and Mexico.
